I read in The Age this morning that the Birdcage has become the place to see badly dressed B grade celebrities and soap stars. Orange skin. Fanny pelmets. Fuck-wit feathers. Need I say more.
I also read that the place where any fashion photographer would find style and class at the races was in the Nursery. And, that’s where these ladies were. Enjoy.

Have you seen this pic from The Sartorialist? Apart from the fact that her legs seriously depress me, I LOVE her outfit. Smart. Sexy. Sizzling. A great combo to move from aircon office to sun-struck streets.
If it’s too hot for a shirt, or you’re going to be working on your tan in a business meeting sipping lattes in the sun try it with a Bonds Tee ($19.95), or even an American Apparel singlet. Alternatively I’ve seen some great singlets from Lucky 13 (see website for stockists).
I popped into Lee over the weekend and the have an A+ range of denim minis for the summer. Light denim, dark, yellow and pink. V. Cute. And if you’re after a summery blazer try General Pants & Co.
Over and out.
P.S Don’t forget your Oakley Frogskins, Raybans hot belt and oversize bag. Oh, and start working on your legs NOW. ;)

I don’t know if many of you get The Australian at home, but if you don’t you should because the Media section is a good read. For those of you that don’t, I’ve scanned and posted the article ‘Fashion measures up in the mainstream’ for your reading pleasure.
The article looks at fashion as more than just clothes it talks about ‘the crossover of musicians and celebrities that are wearing certain designers’ and briefly touches on the online world mentioning ‘new blogs and websites being delivered faster than Chanel knock offs’.
Have a read.

Although we are inspired by celebrities snapped by the paparazzi dressed in their daily designer do-ups in the likes of Famous and Grazia , it is in my opinion that the trend of street style inspiration that we see heavily online is the next step when it comes to fashion fodder.
Celebrity fashion has become much more accessible with local designers and High Street stores knocking of haute couture creations, but I believe it’s the local twist and the vibe of the city which can only be captured on the streets that really inspires trends. Even designers talk about hitting the pavement to find thread for thought.
Although ‘Vox Pop’ and ‘How To’ sections of mags try and cover this angle, sometimes I feel like they have gone to different departments within their offices and picked a few good looking chicks to feature.
When it comes to style inspiration and keeping ahead of the pack there’s nothing that beats a bit of people watching. I hope, and predict, that in the future we see more of what we’re seeing from the likes of The Sartorialist and Stil in Berlin in the mainstream mags. Because, when it comes to style they should definitely have their finger on the pulse or in my opinion predict when the heartrate is about to rise.
Thanks to The Sartorialist and Stil in Berlin for the pics.

As I didn’t catch the red carpet part of the Brownlow last night
Plastic fantastic. She’s either had a collagen top up yesterday morning or borrowed Bert Newtons Makeup artist. Whatever she’s done you don’t need the above before and after photos to notice the massive difference.
In my opinion she’s dropped her title as Queen B and been replaced by the new darling of WAG glamour – Lauren Phillips.

Not only do said lovely and Gary Ablett Jnr look completely in love but she’s nailed the Brownlow dress two years running. The lavender gown from last year and the red from last night. If there was a vote count for ripping up the red carpet, she’d have mine.
Thanks to The Age for the pics.
