> THE GOLDEN HOUR

It’s the hour of clutter free time before the day really begins. The time you normally spend sleeping. You can sleep when you’re dead. So. Wake up. Have a coffee. And get the brain whirring. And you’ll find that you think better for the whole day.

Whether it means checking your 50 favorite blogs before you clock-on or running two laps of the tan. I know it’s winter, but just do it. You’ll feel good.

GoodMorning

> WHAT’S ON COMEBACK KID?

Pat & Greta met at Cheers. They found each other between tossing the boss and touching toes to Timberlake on Tuesday nights in friendly Hawthorn. Now they find themselves above McCullochs gallery in their store Comeback Kid on Rankins lane in the pulsating heart of Melbourne’s CBD.

Comeback Kid is a mens clothing store with a unisex twist. ‘We dunno what the name means. Mmmmaybe it’s getting up and giving something a go even if you’ve fallen off the horse a few times’. Cheers to that. Clink.

First I asked them what’s on, and then they showed me what’s on their racks. A hot boy called Michael (who they managed to undress and dress for a whole day last week) is wearing it in the photos soon to be released on their website. Hang tight.

Make sure you swing by the store and check out the wall mural by Ben Davis. And click through to their blog. If it was a human, it would be Wade off X-men. A sexy, smoking killer with a speed talking problem.

WHAT’S ON????

We’re on the edge of our seats for the films, The September Issue and Coco Avant Chanel but they’re not on yet are they? What is on?

What’s on you right now?
Pat is sporting his super chunky black Dr Martens. Greta is rockin’ her $1.00 acid wash denim jacket with more zips than a classroom full of pencil cases!

What’s on your to do list?
Planning our outfits for Parklife (no shit, it doesn’t hurt to be prepared), getting ready for our next party (a street fashion exhibition with MelbourneStreetFashion to run along side Spring Fashion Week) and wondering why it can’t be summer all year round.

What’s on the top of your love list?
Friends and family.  Without their support we’d probably be in a gutter somewhere.

What’s on your playlist at the moment?
Just picked up Diplo and Switch’s latest effort Major Lazer to get our feet moving! We’re also loving Phoenix, Lady Gaga, Department of Eagles… oh just come into the store and look at our gigantic iTunes library!

What’s on your coat hanger for Sat night?
Greta is addicted to her new TV skirt she picked up at their recent sale (very Gaga) and Pat’s gone all old school and had his Mum knit him a beautiful loose-knit charcoal jumper.

What’s on your must have list for this winter?
Greta is on the hunt for a fur coat (fake of course!) and Pat is on the lookout for an old-school trench coat.

What’s on the catwalks at the moment that will translate onto the streets?
Roll up everything. Your sleeves, your trousers, the ends of your blazers and coats. It reveals what your wearing underneath (be it contrasting socks or shirt) and adds an extreme punch to any multi layered outfit.  Skinny jeans are being replaced with a looser, baggier pants/jeans which should hit the streets in a bigger way in the next year or so.

What’s on your wall?
A tree! Seriously! Made with a lot of paper and patience courtesy of Mr Ben Davis. He has a moustache.

What’s on your racks?
A male clothing extravaganza! Odeur, Limedrop, Trimapee, Orri Henrisson with Andrea Crews, Ground Zero and Stolen Girlfriends Club to join us shortly. Around our necks are Neon Sleep and Does Not Equal.

What’s on the menu?
Currently addicted to the food at + 39 on Little Bourke – it’s super fresh and tasty Italian. We’re also in love with the crew at Brother Baba Budan at the end of the lane. We want to bathe in their coffee!

> HAIR EXPECTATIONS

I’m sick of blow drying my hair, it takes up so much time. But I don’t want to cut it off. Mainly because I have ‘pin head fear’. Pin head fear is quite common. Most Toorak Mums suffer from it. It’s the fear that your head is too small for your body. This kind of paranoia results in the ‘over-blow’. You know what I’m talking about. Those blonde woman that get high off hot air and half a can of hairspray every morning. Mostly they enlist the help of hairdressers, but they’re some of them that have it down to a fine art.

I’ll probably end up like that one day. All thanks to Disney. That and any eating disorders that I may develop thanks to the size of Arial and Jasmine’s waists.

I couldn’t find a photo of a Toorak Mum. I’ve collected some references for mood. Manicured? Or Robotic?

Anna : ‘Oh, it’s so bright in here Roger, muuuust keep my sunnies on. A thooooousand apologies.’
Anna’s Brain: ‘Bloody needles, not even my makeup artist can cover the bruises with her industrial cover up’
Roger: ‘Not at all Anna’
Roger’s Brain: ‘I’m not even looking at you Hag, I can see up the models skirts from this angle’

I think the late Farrah Fawcett has also contributed to my high hair expectations. This is more my style.
