Album artwork on T’s rock. I love a cheeky Guns and Roses t-shirt. And I proudly wear the Nevermind cover across my chest. But normally these come after the album has reached legendary status. Or unless the band are some blokes you went to school with and have printed a T for their boys weekend. Mos Def has skipped this step. Him or some highly paid marketing guru have come up with the idea of launching his new album ‘The Ecstatic’ as a t-shirt. On the front is the cover artwork. On the back the track listing. And on the tag – a download code. Genius.
You can tell so much about someone by the music that they listen too. I’m enjoying the idea of people wearing the most recent album artwork on t-shirt around town. Apparently Santogold is going to jump on board too. Puts the pressure on the album design. I like.
