Are men capable of choosing their own bed linen? I say NO.
NO NO NO NO NO.
They always pick dark school-uniform-slash-numberplate-blue colours that are most unattractive. They think they hide dirt. Well yes, in theory.
They hide dark coloured smudges. Like a girls mascara on a pillow case. However when a girl comes over that’s not the only thing you want to be disguising. And we all know that deep blue, grey, black and dark tones don’t cut it.
So. It’s up to you. With the ridiculous sales that DJ’s and Myer are always having one can procure a sheet set at a very minimal cost. Good quality too. These are my picks. And if you’re feeling like a bit of fun and your man has a double bed. Go for the Junior range. Who knew that they sell kids bedding in double size?? Brats.

For more details and a better idea of the range check out the Sheridan website. Live on the edge of the bed. Boot boring.

The best thing about Who What Wear is that they shoot the latest looks straight into your email. They have an uncanny ability to write 500 + words on ‘winged eye makeup’ and still not sound like complete tossers. The worst thing is that WE’RE IN COMPLETE OPPOSITE SEASONS. And normally I’m broke.
But. Yesterdays beauty made my heart flutter. Columns of celebs. COLUMNS I SAY. Brilliant. And even better. All of them wearing something that you could wear in the current weather conditions here in menopausal-Melbourne. Take note. And if you have no idea what who what wear is. SUBSCRIBE you donkey.

There’s a soldier over there with a stripe down his pants. To sleeve or not to sleeve. A tissue. I hank-you. There’s nothing more unattractive than a bushy blow or a soldier stripe. Ech.
I’ve noticed a few sniffles around town. It must be the change in the weather. Everyone is coming down with something. If your man, or someone with a Y chromosome that you know is feeling particularly sorry for themselves then I have the perfect help-you-get-better-slash-sympathy gift. NO. It’s not another lemon tree. It’s a handkerchief.
Yes that’s right. You know those colourful pieces of material that you often see popping out of well-dressed mens pocket?! Yes, those. They have a use. So invest.

Visit Hanky Shmanky for a cute design like the one above. Or if you like Jen, head to Myer. But if you prefer Megan pop into DJ’s. You could even try Henry Bucks. Swisho.
Just remember. Handkerchiefs are environmentally friendly. And don’t leave white pillage all over your clothes if sent through the wash. Bonus.

Bec Lutz (nee Parenthoin) studied fashion. Designed for some Melbourne crew. Started her own label. Then thought . . . ‘WTF? Why are all these boutiques picking ho-hum-commercial-pieces instead of my ooh-la-la-creative-ones? Where’s the fun in that? ‘. So instead of whining about it. She did something about it. Et Voila. Design A Space was born.
It’s kinda like a gallery. But for clothes. The designers that ‘show their work’ their are given the the creative freedom to curate a designated space. It’s up to them as to how much they charge, how often they restock and what they hang.
So. I asked Bec, WHAT’S ON?
What’s on your coat hanger for Sat night?
Kylie Hawkes tailored vest with leggings!
What’s on your mind?
The weather – is it already winter?
What’s on the top of your love list?
Shoes . . . I am obsessed with boots!

What’s on your must have list at the mo?

What’s on your toast?

What’s on your wall?
Carla Fletcher. . . stunning exhibitions currently being featured in our chapel st store.
What’s on your bedside table?

What’s on you right now!?
Its freezing . . . hooded leather jacket.
Bec and her DIVINE partner Chris opened the Chapel Street store in September 06 and the City store (Manchester Lane) in September 07. Currently housing an eclectic mixture of womenswear, menswear, accessories, jewellery and artwork, Design A Space provides an artistic retail platform for designers to showcase their entire range in any creative form.
If you’re keen to define a space at Design A Space just pop in to one of the stores and fill out a form.
